Transient Translational–Rotational Motion of an Ocean Current Converter Mooring System with Initial Conditions

چکیده

Systems of ocean current power generation are generally moored deep in the seabed. The mooring system is like ropes. ropes very long and can provide tension but not compression, their dynamic displacement large unstable, which different from traditional structures. To generate high-efficiency generation, it necessary to design a stable system. Maintaining stability small invertor significantly helpful for high efficiency invertor. In addition, tension, safety factor, life essential. this study, we investigate transient behavior composed an inverter platform, pontoon, under initial conditions. An analytical method proposed. translational rotational displacements 36 independent normalized fundamental solutions. composition depends on Each solution derived by using Frobenius method. This study proposes replacement single-rope mode with double-rope parallel mode, maintain fracture strength low effective spring constant rope. It verified that decrease instantaneous increase factor Additionally, hydrodynamic damping coefficients

Mooring Line Reliability Analysis of Single Point Mooring (SPM) System under Extreme Wave and Current Conditions

Single Point Mooring (SPM) is a type of offshore facility that is used for the loading and unloading of oil and gas tankers in the sea. In Iran, it is briefly called “floating buoy”. The present study discussed floating type, fixed to the seabed with mooring chain. The mooring chain of SPM, which is considered one of the important parameters of its design, will be evaluated with reg...

Underwater Application of Quantitative PCR on an Ocean Mooring

The Environmental Sample Processor (ESP) is a device that allows for the underwater, autonomous application of DNA and protein probe array technologies as a means to remotely identify and quantify, in situ, marine microorganisms and substances they produce. Here, we added functionality to the ESP through the development and incorporation of a module capable of solid-phase nucleic acid extractio...

Stochastic Control of Sensitive Nonlinear Motions of an Ocean Mooring System

Complex sensitive motions have been observed in ocean mooring systems consisting of nonlinear mooring geometries. These physical systems can be modeled as a system of first-order nonlinear ordinary differential equations, taking into account geometric nonlinearities in the restoring force, quadratic viscous drag, and harmonic excitation. This study examines the controllability of these systems ...

Transient thermoelastic analysis of FGM rotating thick cylindrical pressure vessels under arbitrary boundary and initial conditions

Assuming arbitrary boundary and initial conditions, a transient thermo-elastic analysis of a rotating thick cylindrical pressure vessel made of functionally graded material (FGM) subjected to axisymmetric mechanical and transient thermal loads is presented. Time-dependent thermal and mechanical boundary conditions are assumed to act on the boundaries of the vessel. Material properties of the ve...
